Introduction

Hello my name is Melissa Nestor and I am from Carlsbad. I was born in La Jolla California and spent my first two years in Cardiff. Other than that I have always been in Carlsbad. I went to Kelly Elementary from kindergarten to sixth grade, and Valley Middle School for seventh and eighth. I attended all four years of high school at Carlsbad and graduated in 2005. I finished all my general education at Mira Costa and transferred to San Marcos this fall as a liberal studies major.

My experience with technology varies. I never go anywhere without my cell phone, what if the Pope calls, right? Please, who do I think I am? My knowledge with computers is enough to get me by and is mainly school related. I am most familiar with PC but planning on getting a Mac in the near future. I am hoping with this class I will learn to use it, not just turn it on and charge it. Lastly, I am most comfortable with Microsoft office 07 and really appreciate how easy it is.

The Mission Statement was not a deciding factor when I applied to Cal State San Marcos. However, I agree with what it stands for. I believe that by preparing thoughtful educators through life long learning and through innovative research our diverse community will be able to reach its full potential.
